‘Top 5’ saves of the 2025-26 season
The save by Dimitrievski against Girona FC leads this Valencian ranking
The makeshift centre back talks to VCF Media
Valencia CF's Pepelu spoke after the 1-1 draw with RCD Mallorca on Matchday 33.
The match
“We have to value the point given our recent form and the form RCD Mallorca were in. We always want to win, and that's our obligation, but when we can't win, we have to value a point, because it's a difficult stadium to come to. We have to make it more valuable at Mestalla next time out.”
The goal conceded and the team’s reaction
“It’s another goal from a set piece; we can't afford to give those away. It's true that the team reacted well, which means we have heart and that we wanted to go for the win. There were details that could have tipped the game either way, but we have to focus on that: being ambitious and going for the win, which has to be our identity.”
Possible penalty on Gayà
“It was a bit far away for me to see, but from what my teammates on the bench are telling me, when Gayà crossed into the box, he got stepped on, and as I always say, we don't know when it's just a minor contact and when it isn't. It's a key move, but you're left with the doubt.”
Playing as a centre back
“I’ve always said it. For me, the team is the most important thing. Wherever I’m needed, I’ll contribute. The coach knows he can count on me for whatever he needs, whether that be playing or not. I give everything for this team. Today was a difficult match because I’m not used to playing at centre back and I was up against Muriqi, but I showed character and a desire to help the team.”
The next match against Girona FC
“We have to show that we want to go for the win from the first minute. We want to give the fans the joy they deserve; we’ve been making them suffer, and we’re eager to give it our all and get the victory.”
